A-Star Success in the First USACO Contest of the Year

USACO November contest was held on November 15-18. A-Star students had great success in the first USACO contest of the year. Some of this remarkable achievement is listed as follows:

Steven Hao, A-STAR student, receives Silver Medal at IOI 2013

USA Team wins 2 gold and 2 silver medals in the 25th International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI) in Brisbane, Australia. USA ranked 4th after China, Russia and Korea. A-STAR student Steven Hao received silver medal. 

The IOI is one of five international science olympiads. The primary goal of the IOI is to stimulate interest in informatics (computing science) and information technology. Another important goal is to bring together exceptionally talented pupils from various countries and to have them share scientific and cultural experiences.
