Summer SAT Camp

Full day program dates

  • June 19 - July 15, 2017 OR July 17 - August 11, 2017
  • Monday through Friday 8:30AM - 4:30P
  • Saturday 8:30AM - 1:00P

Half day program dates

  • June 19 - Aug 11, 2017
  • Monday through Friday 8:00AM - 12:30P;  AM Option
  • Monday through Friday 1:00PM - 5:30P;  PM Option

Levels and Curriculum

Levels: There are three levels at the camp: I, II, and II.The levels are determined based on a recent actual or practice test score. See below:

  • Based on the old scale:
    • Level    I    : 530 and below.
    • Level    II   : Between 540 and 650
    • Level    III  : 660 and above
  • Based on the new scale:
    • Level    I    : Math: ~490 and below ; Reading: ~20 and below ; Writing and Language: ~20 and below
    • Level    II   : Math: ~500 - ~690 ; Reading: ~21 - ~ 34 ; Writing and Language: ~21 - ~ 34
    • Level    III  : Math: ~700 and above ; Reading: ~35 and above ; Writing and Language: ~35 and above

Curriculum: The camp is designed to provide a balance of guided instruction, collaborative discussion and group work, and realistic practice opportunities. Students work both collaboratively and individually as they apply new strategies, with the instructor serving as an approachable mentor. Instructional methods include:

  • Engaging lecture, to introduce strategy and new content
  • Collaborative problem-solving, to tackle difficult problems early in the course
  • Realistic mock test-taking, to ensure that students are well prepared for true test conditions
  • Team-based competition
  • Online adaptive testing

Students at each level receive daily instruction consisting of lectures, problem solving, and practice tests with immediate feedback in math, critical reading, and writing portions of the SAT. 8 Full SAT practice tests will be administered, scored, and reviewed for immediate feedback including essays.
