Q1: What curriculum do you use for your courses?
Answer: We use a curriculum created by A-Star for the target contests. You may find the curriculum for each course at

Q2: Can a student take the same level course 2 years in a row? Do consecutive years cover the same material?
Answer: Yes, one can take the same level course 2 years in a row. Consecutive years use a different set of problems.

Q3: Is Spring semester a repetition of the Fall semester?
Answer: No. Spring is a continuation of the Fall. You may find the curriculum for both semesters at

Q4: Can I start A-Star courses from Spring term if I missed the Fall term?
Answer: Yes, you may, especially if you have a good background in Fall semester topics. Otherwise, you may need to work harder on some of the topics.

Q5: Is there any level difference in different sections of the same course?
Answer: No. They cover the same topics and problems.

Q6: I have a schedule conflict for one of the meetings. Do you offer make-up classes? Can I join another section of the same class?
Answer: For scheduling conflicts, please let us know at least one week before the conflict. We do not offer make up classes. However, you may join another section if there is space.

Q7: How can I participate in MathCounts or AMC competitions?
Answer: MathCounts is a school competition. Please contact your school or homeschool association. For details please check: http://mathcounts.org/programs/competition-series

You can participate in AMC contests through your school. If your school does not currently offer the AMC contests you may use the following link to locate nearby schools and institutions of higher education that may be willing to accept you for AMC-8 or AMC 10/12 at their testing location:

Q8: How much time should I spend on homework problems assigned in courses/camps?
Answer: A few hours per week should be enough. However, you can spend more time on harder problems before reading the solutions.
