Prealgebra

If you are new to competitive math at the elementary school level this course is a great start. It also lays foundations for the future AMC 8 training. 

This course is combination of topics from the subjects of Algebra, Geometry, Number Theory, and Counting.

To register, students must excel at elementary school math at their school. Recommended grade level is 5th grade and later.

Each class start with a brief lecture that includes example problems. Afterwards, a set of related problems appeared in AMC 8, MathCounts, or similar contests are interactively discussed and then explained by the instructor. Students are expected to study the remaining problems as homework.

 

NOTE: This class is 10 days. However, weeks are not next to each other. The first week is July 3-7. The second week is July 24-28. Students are expected to finish their practice regarding the first part before the second part starts.
